Building Caring Communities: MYMCA and TAP sign Tenancy Agreement

Metropolitan YMCA Singapore (MYMCA) and The Assembly Place (TAP) signed a Tenancy Agreement (TA) on Wednesday, 15 February 2023.

The TA signed would see both parties embark on a 5-year partnership, with TAP taking over ownership of the MYMCA property at 58 Stevens Road, which are Serviced Residences owned by MYMCA.

Since its opening its doors to guests in 1999, the Residences comprising 27 fully furnished units, have been providing home-style comfort and space for both business and family travellers looking for a longer stay.

Group Chief Executive Officer Ms Grace Chan said the collaboration it is a testament to both organisations’ vision and roadmap of sustainable growth, as well as benefiting from a common history of nurturing friendships and personal growth by providing spaces to live meaningfully.

“The partnership with The Assembly Place, adds another critical component to MYMCA’s strategic plan of promoting sustainability, increasing capacity, and deepening impact over the next five years. It also continues our legacy of building a caring community by providing a home away from home for everyone who walks through our doors,” she added.

“We are excited to partner with MYMCA, who share the same values, belief, and vision in building a robust community to launch our first service apartment asset in Singapore. We look forward to working closely with the team at MYMCA over the next 5 years.” said Eugene Lim, CEO and Founder of The Assembly Place.

“This is exciting times for The Assembly Place as this service apartment space adds on to our other accommodation classes like residential, hotels and hostels. This will strengthen TAP’s position as the accommodation of choice and we are looking forward to adding on more accommodation classes over the next few months to service the growing demands of new members” he added.

TAP began in May 2019 with 6 rooms and in a short span of four years has expanded to almost 100 locations with over one thousand rooms to date.  The company is the first co-living operator in Singapore to have a full range of accommodation spaces from co-living hotels, and hostels to residential units and more.
