Project DRIVE: Developing Robotics and Innovative Visionaries through STEM Education MOU Signing
As part of Metropolitan YMCA Singapore’s (MYMCA) ongoing strategic initiatives to promote youth empowerment and create opportunities for personal growth in young individuals, MYMCA and VM Education (https://vm-education.com/) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) today between both organisations that will ignite the spark of curiosity in the young minds about digital literacy and STEM education.
This initiative, spearheaded by VM Education, VEX Robotics (https://www.vexrobotics.com/) and MYMCA, aims to revolutionise the educational landscape for children and youths that MYMCA serve. By capitalising on the transformative potential of coding and robotics, the partnership aims to offer an innovative and enriching STEM and Educational Robotics learning experience. Through hands-on activities, the programmes seek to broaden the youth’s horizons by introducing them to a range of STEM fields, inspiring them to consider these areas for their future careers and contribute to the wider STEM community and encourage the youth to apply their acquired knowledge and skills in meaningful ways that give back to society, fostering a culture of learning and sharing.
In addition, the initiative is a crucial part of a larger plan to enhance digital literacy and STEM education, starting with MYMCA’s youths. These young individuals will then become mentors and role models for younger MYMCA members, creating a positive, cascading influence within the broader community.
