15 colleagues from Metropolitan YMCA (MYMCA) and M.Y World spent a wonderful Thursday morning at the St Andrew’s Autism Centre spreading Christmas cheer to the clients.
The activity room was filled with a sense of excitement as this was the first time being able to interact and usher in the Christmas season with our new friends. The team led a joyous sing-along session with timeless Christmas favourites including ‘Joy to the World’ and ‘Mary’s Boy Child’. Contributing to the buzz and joyous singing were the rhythmic sounds of the handmade shakers made by the beneficiaries themselves using recycled plastic bottles and rice.
But the celebrations did not stop there. Team MYMCA specially prepared Christmas gift packs for everyone and rounded off the session with a meaningful gifting session. The joy on the faces of the clients, as they received their gifts, made the event even more memorable.
Thank you to all our new friends and everyone at St. Andrew’s Autism Centre! It was wonderful to bless you with God’s love and the spirit of Christmas!
